Description
• We are looking for a Senior Engineer and DevOps specialist to join our small software engineering team. • We build web applications used both by our staff and directly by our clients. • We process real-time data streams provided to us via X/Twitter and various other data sources. • We annotate the data using our crowdsourcing platform as well as various machine learning systems. • The person we are looking for is a senior Java developer and DevOps engineer. • We run our stack on primarily bare-metal, leased servers, with most of our own developed code running on two Kubernetes clusters. • This role requires being comfortable performing infrastructure maintenance occasionally developing on debugging our backend services.
Requirements
• Experience maintaining a Kubernetes cluster • Backend or full-stack Java experience • Comfort working on bare-metal servers running Ubuntu Server • A curious, always learning personality • A need to communicate, to let others know what you’re doing, and to learn what others need from the dev and product teams • Problem-solving skills and joy from jumping in and fixing things • Glowing references from those you worked with in the past
