• Defiant is a small, dynamic, fast-growing, and profitable company with loyal customers who love our products and services. • We are the global leader in WordPress security, protecting over 5 million websites. • Are you excited about working for a technology company that is securing the web? • Are you looking for flexible hours working remotely from anywhere in the United States? • If so, this may be your dream job! • We’re looking for a highly skilled Video Editor with an expertise in creating short-form content to create engaging videos for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels. • You will work with a talented and motivated team that is friendly, fast-moving, self-managing, and highly capable with a sense of humor. • Our team's family time is important; we won't typically require long hours when we can avoid it, which is almost always. • Our entire team works remotely using Slack for casual interaction. • There's no micro-­management here—we trust that you will see tasks through to completion and communicate with your fellow team members or ask for help when needed. • At Defiant, ‘trust’ is the attribute we value most highly among our team members. • We need to know that you can grab a task, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and see the task to completion with superb attention to detail. • We use apps like Slack, FogBugz, GitHub, and Google Apps for our workflow.

🎯 Requirements

• The ideal candidate understands social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and platform algorithms, and can produce high-energy, visually compelling videos that capture attention quickly. • While expertise in short-form video editing is the top priority, a strong understanding of WordPress and cybersecurity is a plus. • Candidates with experience in tech-focused content, cybersecurity topics, or WordPress will be preferred. • 1+ years of experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing short-form content. • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software. (Davinci Resolve Preferred) • Strong understanding of platform-specific trends, modern short form video best practices, engagement tactics, and viral content strategies. • Experience with motion graphics, typography, and sound design. • Experience with marketing metrics, analytics reporting, and brand goal and strategy alignment. • Ability to manage multiple projects with fast turnaround times while maintaining high quality.
