Description

• You'll work with customer engineering teams to ensure we’re building solutions that developers love using day-in and day-out • You'll collaborate with our Client Developer Experience team and our Platform-as-a-Service team for a cohesive developer experience and a crisp path to production • You'll improve our remote cloud development environment (we use Coder, and you can read more about it here: https://discord.com/blog/how-discord-moved-engineering-to-cloud-development-environments) • You'll provide fast and stable builds across our entire tech stack using tools like Bazel, Docker, Nix, and K8s • You'll build the core libraries and CLI frameworks that provide a unified tooling ecosystem • You'll refine our existing build, test, and deploy tools or building them from the ground up

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on tooling, infrastructure, and automation • Experience working in multi-milestone and even multi-quarter projects • Expertise and empathy when troubleshooting issues with customer engineering teams • Experience developing in cloud-based environments (we use Google Cloud) • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (we use Terraform) • Experience with CI, build, and deployment technologies like Buildkite, Docker, Kubernetes, Bazel, and Terraform • Broad experience across many domains and technologies and comfort in diving into something new
