Description

•Manage Database Servers: Oversee database servers to ensure optimal performance and uptime •Database Maintenance and Updates: support the design, implementation, and updating of database systems, including system upgrades •Ensure Data Integrity: perform massive uploads and updates of data if / when required •Performance Tuning: monitor and optimize database performance •Backup and Recovery: develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to protect data against loss or corruption •Regularly document the technical choices and procedures •Troubleshooting and Support: diagnose and resolve database issues, providing support to internal teams as needed •Scalability Planning: plan and implement strategies to ensure the scalability of database systems in line with business growth •Collaboration and Communication: work closely with data architects, data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to support data-driven initiatives and communicate effectively.

Requirements

•3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with MySQL •Experience with other RDBMs platforms. •Experience with NoSQL databases. •Experience of Amazon AWS. •Knowledge of DevOps and IaC tools and methodologies, e.g. Terraform. •Experience with CI/CD technologies. •Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, etc). •Ability to prioritize and cope with last-minute changes while under pressure. •Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
