• Spearhead communication initiatives that elevate ESP as a leader in the progressive economic space • Craft and implement communication strategies targeting ESP's key audiences • Cultivate thought leaders, and amplify ESP's brand through earned, social and paid media platforms • Manage a team of three and reports to the VP of Communications and External Affairs • Drive high-impact media relations strategies by securing placements in national, state, and local news outlets • Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool to achieve communications objectives • Engage media in ESP’s robust events calendar and coordinate with the events team
• 8-10 years of experience leading communications, public affairs, or another field related to the role (media relations, journalism, etc.) • Strong knowledge of the evolving media industry and how to maximize existing media contacts/relationships to advance stories • Strategic thinking - able to understand public policies, business, and political strategies and distill them into simple, compelling storylines • Writing abilities - excellent writer and storyteller, proofreading, editing, and creative writing • Experience leading 360 communications campaigns across earned, paid and digital platforms and leveraging digital storytelling to advance narratives • Previous experience managing communication strategies and working with organizational stakeholders • Fast-paced & nimble - able to handle high-pressure and complicated situations with poise • Collaborative & proactive leadership - ability to lead and take initiative confidently while also taking direction well as part of a collaborative team across a remote-first environment • Previous experience managing and mentoring staff and a small team • Creative, innovative and entrepreneurial in landing media and digital stories in a fastly changing media environment
