• The Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) is an organization dedicated to building and stewarding a global community of people who are thinking carefully about the world’s most pressing problems and taking action to solve them. • Join us in building and stewarding a community dedicated to doing good. • We’re hiring a Meta Special Events Lead/Head of Meta Special Events to develop and oversee a portfolio of high-impact events focused on nurturing and strengthening the EA community. • In this leadership position, you’ll take ownership over this portfolio, set the strategic direction, build relationships with stakeholders, and lead a team. • You will report to the Director of Events and manage and potentially grow a team as the program expands. • Responsibilities include developing the vision and strategy for the events program, overseeing event planning and execution, engaging stakeholders, and providing team leadership.
• Strategically minded with the ability to set a clear and compelling vision, develop actionable strategies, and adapt plans based on new insights or feedback • An effective project manager who can oversee complex events from concept to completion • Deeply familiar with the EA community with insight into its key organizations, challenges, and opportunities • A skilled relationship builder capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders and navigating complex dynamics • Motivated by EA principles and excited to work on projects that strengthen the EA community. • Experience designing and executing high-impact events or similar convening initiatives (preferred but not required) • Background in planning for complex projects with multiple stakeholders (preferred but not required) • Experience leading and mentoring a team (preferred but not required) • Experience with fundraising or donor relations (preferred but not required)
