Description

• Provide the team with technical leadership over their particular function (backend, front end, QA, or data), and establish the guidelines and principles for building processes • Work closely with the architect to holistically examine the organization’s engineering operations and objectives • Identify and resolve technical issues and provide innovative ideas while driving performance and collaboration. • Own the delivery of highly-available systems with quality, resiliency, security, latency, and developer productivity a key focus of each service built or maintained. • Provide mentorship and technical oversight of engineering talent • Lead client meetings and demos, demonstrating project progress or gathering technical requirements. • Review solution designs to determine their technical viability and relevance to the business goals • Support other team members’ growth by organizing knowledge transfer sessions and internal lunch & learn events. • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience web application development • 2+ years experience as a technical lead of a development team • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or combination of education and experience • Experience in building cloud native solutions (preferably on AWS) • Proficiency in GO • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns • Strong foundation in event-driven architectures • Proven ability to create and maintain highly available, scalable, secure, and observable services • Hands-on experience designing and creating Event schemas and services • Skilled in designing/building RESTful APIs • Ability to write clean, well-designed, and high-quality code in a highly collaborative Agile development environment • Experience in a peak performance organization, preferably a tech startup • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work cross culturally on a global team • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment
