β€’ Responsible for preparation of state tax filings for assigned entities β€’ Responsible for state tax accruals, coordinating and responding to tax controversy matters β€’ Assist with insurance tax and document significant tax positions β€’ Prepare quarterly and annual state income/franchise tax filings β€’ Assist with quarterly premium tax estimates and annual premium tax return calculations β€’ Manage indirect tax calculations and related tax filings β€’ Prepare premium tax accruals and assist with review of income tax accruals β€’ Analyze data throughout the preparation and/or review processes β€’ Assist with state tax examination and notice responses β€’ Document significant tax positions and prepare workpapers supporting tax filings β€’ Participate in budgeting process and preparation of tax related financial projections β€’ Communicate and coordinate with other departments and with state auditors and service providers β€’ Manage and track tax payments and refunds β€’ Ad hoc tax research and documentation β€’ Special projects, administrative functions related to the above responsibilities

Requirements

β€’ Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Accounting and/or Master in Taxation β€’ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, preferred β€’ Two years of tax return compliance β€’ At least one year of experience in accounting for income taxes (either IFRS or US GAAP) β€’ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) β€’ SAP and/or Corptax experience, preferred β€’ Execution orientated; results driven cross-functional approach β€’ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills β€’ Strong verbal and written communication skills
