Description

• Lead further development, implementation, and maintenance of Encore’s accounting system, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system based in Sage Intacct. • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Develop and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting. • Stay abreast of accounting pronouncements and industry best practices. • Manage the company's relationship with external auditors, facilitating smooth and efficient audits. • Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns. • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while complying with all relevant tax laws. • Partner with finance team to refine and maintain accurate financial models and forecasts, including integration with accounting and program data systems. • Conduct analysis to identify and understand financial performance and form recommendations for process and system improvements. • Oversee preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors. • Lead the preparation of financial reports for lenders and tax equity investors, ensuring compliance with financing agreements and investor covenants. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with lenders and investors, providing timely and transparent financial communication. • Incorporate cash management function and oversight of banking relationships, compliance with loans, etc. • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. • Manage and develop the skills of the accounting team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • CPA designation with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the energy industry • Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP and strong understanding of the renewable energy sector as well as project finance including tax equity, ideally • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and tax accounting • Proven experience with ERP systems and financial modeling • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team • Strong financial, planning and analysis skills • Self–starter, able to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders • Strong analytical and data gathering skills • Ability to self-organize priorities, set and work to deadlines, often with limited direct oversight • Strong oral and written communication skills, organized approach to workflow processes • Impeccable integrity and a high degree of emotional intelligence • Team player with a willingness to pitch in across the organization
