β€’ A highly skilled and motivated Engineering Design III, Landing Gear Mechanical Integration is needed to take the lead on the design and integration of the landing gear for a clean sheet electrified regional aircraft. β€’ The Landing Gear Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, integration, and certification of the nose and main landing gear overall systems (including retraction, door actuation, and nose wheel steering). β€’ Contribute to the integration of high voltage actuation for gear retraction, steering and braking systems into the aircraft design with a focus on performance, weight, and sustainability. β€’ Ensure all systems meet relevant aerospace standards and regulatory requirements for certification. β€’ Integrating internal and external components and systems into the virtual aircraft design to ensure that they meet aircraft space and kinematic design requirements.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and fast-moving projects from concept through to certification and production. β€’ Minimum of 4 years in the aerospace industry within an aircraft or OEM environment, with substantial experience in engineering, particularly through the design, development, and certification lifecycle of EASA/FAA Part 23, 25, 27, or 29 aircraft. β€’ In-depth knowledge Landing Gear, Actuation, WTB. β€’ Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges through innovative solutions. β€’ Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred. β€’ A strong passion for innovation in aviation and a commitment to advancing sustainable transport solutions. β€’ Demonstrated ability to take ownership of challenging systems design from initial requirements to design, supplier selection, procurement and testing. β€’ Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional environment that prioritizes the success of the overall program and company goals. β€’ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders. β€’ Demonstrated flexibility to work in a dynamic environment typical of a start-up, contributing to the growth of EOS as an organization. β€’ Prior experience in an aerospace start-up or with eVTOL or other electric aircraft development is highly valued. β€’ FAA Certification experience (Part 23, 25, 27, 29) with understanding of certification requirements and the certification processes. β€’ Ability to perform aircraft and system safety analysis, in conjunction with System Safety Engineers, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Common Mode Analysis (CMA). β€’ Strong 3D CAD skills for modeling, integration and simulation of mechanical systems (CATIA, NX, or similar).
