• Support advocacy for the full implementation of the Maputo Protocol • Collaborate with SOAWR members and stakeholders • Conduct high-quality research for targeted advocacy • Monitor human rights and political/social situations in target countries • Support Equality Now in capacity strengthening activities • Supervise interns as required • Participate in staff meetings and discussions
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in law, human rights, international relations, gender studies, or related field required • Minimum of two years’ work experience in the non-profit, NGO, or community development sectors • Strong grasp of the African human rights system • Proven track record of knowledge and commitment to the rights of women and girls in Africa • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent deadlines • Fluency in English required, French desirable • Ability to take initiative and work independently
