📋 Description

• A digital legal/court reporter attends hearings either in person or remotely to record and take a log of the proceedings. • eScribers is continually seeking to engage with digital reporters (logger) to join our highly skilled and dedicated UK team of professionals. • Successful candidates will contract with eScribers Limited and have the option of engaging with either of these entities, both of whom operate independently within the Group, to undertake work. • eScribers provides an opportunity to be part of a growing community of encouraging like-minded people who are dedicated to providing high-quality reporting services. • eScribers is ISO9001 certified, which means we are dedicated to providing top-quality services to all our clients. • eScribers currently provides services to Courts, Tribunals, Inquests, and other hearings and meetings. • A Digital Reporter/Logger’s duties will include: transporting and setting up of digital recording equipment both remotely and on location. • Managing the recording and logging of events in a professional and efficient manner, adhering to agreed timescales, and seeking appropriate support when necessary. • Communicating effectively and appropriately with colleagues, clients and venue staff in order to best achieve eScribers’ contractual obligations to the highest standards. • Building relationships with clients and host venues to ensure the smooth running of the event, and to facilitate the transfer of information to enable a quality transcript to be produced. • Possessing an understanding of Court proceedings and basic legal terminology. • Providing a high level of customer service and support to all Stakeholders. • Identifying and troubleshooting common issues. • Attention to detail and accuracy.

🎯 Requirements

• Reside in the UK • Legally entitled to work in the UK • Have previously worked as a Digital Reporter/Logger (ie, previous experience is a requirement) • Have a current UK bank account to receive payment • Be reliable, with good time management and plenty of flexibility (as proceedings can overrun) • Be a confident communicator (written & verbal) • Be smart and well presented • Be able to remain calm under pressure. Intermediate technical IT/AV troubleshooting skills • Good keyboard skills • A confident Microsoft Windows, Word user • Knowledge and application of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax skills • Have good attention to detail and focus • Be able to work independently and as part of a team • Discretion and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality • Problem identification and resolution skills • Be able to travel in and around the London area (the availability to travel further afield and include overnight stays will be a bonus
