• A World-Changing Company • At Ethyca, we're engineering trust for humanity. • As a Senior Backend Engineer at Ethyca, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data privacy and AI governance. • Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget. • Oversee the technical design and architecture of solutions. • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development sessions. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity. • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders related to DSRs, API integrations, and reporting. • Conduct regular code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices. • Successfully onboard and mentor new team members. • Develop and execute effective recruitment strategies. • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience writing production-grade web applications or services • Expertise with Python 3, web frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, FastAPI), and RESTful APIs • Proficient with one or more data stores such as MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Snowflake, etc. • Fluent with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E) and CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub) • Love writing tests for everything you do • Some examples of contributing to or maintaining open source projects is a plus • Previous experience working independently in a high velocity environment where rapid iteration is vital (like a startup!) • Excellent written communication skills and a love for documentation and collaboration • Experienced working in an asynchronous environment like an open source project or distributed team • Comfortable with agile processes and best practices (but not doctrine!)
