Description

• Develop and maintain software and systems that manage Fastly's data • Collaborate with local and cross-team projects • Scale large data systems to meet customers' needs • Use infrastructure as code and configuration management • Anticipate reliability, scalability, and performance needs • Create dashboards and alerts to monitor services • Participate in on-call support rotation • Help establish SLO practice

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience developing software in a distributed environment • Significant experience programming in Go and Kotlin • Understanding of the challenges in operating scalable data storage systems • A thoughtful and empathetic approach to design and implementation • Experience with message queues like Google Pub/Sub, NSQ, Kafka, Kinesis • Experience with container technology like Kubernetes/Docker/Helm • Experience with metric collection and monitoring tools like Prometheus or DataDog • Eagerness to learn new languages and technologies
