Description

β€’ Flexcompute seeks a research scientist for adjoint-based inverse design using Tidy3D. β€’ Drive the development and adoption of inverse design platforms. β€’ Collaborate on algorithm design, software development, and practical applications. β€’ Support development of new features and performance improvements within Tidy3D. β€’ Assist in design and implementation of APIs for ease of use. β€’ Apply inverse design to industry problems and academic collaborations.

Requirements

β€’ PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field (Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, etc.) with focus on inverse design, optimization, or machine learning. β€’ Excellent programming skills, specifically in Python. β€’ Good understanding of computational methods and numerical simulations. β€’ Experience with practical realization of inverse design, spanning from simulation to experiment. β€’ Industry experience in roles involving inverse design. β€’ Experience with developing numerical simulation code. β€’ Machine learning experience, especially familiarity with automatic differentiation tools such as JAX or PyTorch. β€’ Experience with open source and collaborative software development process, ideally in industry setting. β€’ Experience implementing adjoint method for calculating gradients through physical simulations. β€’ Experience with Tidy3D as a user.
