Description

• The Senior Analytics Engineer will be responsible for helping implement our analytics roadmap. • They will play a critical role in developing the data modeling and transform layer in DBT on top of the Focal Systems data warehouse. • Reporting to the Head of Analytics you will work closely with other Business Analysts to create efficient dashboards and query results. • Lead developer in data transformation (DBT), semantic layer (DBT, Cube), and data presentation (BI layer modeling). • Identify data, metrics and analysis needs; Initiate, develop and maintain data pipelines and data models that power dashboards and data products with outstanding craftsmanship. • Write efficient SQL queries that help answer critical business reporting questions. • Implement best practices in data warehouse storage (partitions, clustering, query optimizations). • Operational ownership of data pipelines and data integrity monitoring. • Work to drive new data initiatives, automation of reports, and establish best practices. • Maximize efficiency and productivity through automation and best practices.

Requirements

• BS and MS degree, preferably in Engineering, Math, CS or related with 5+ years work experience • 3+ years experience in Google BigQuery, or Snowflake • 2+ years experience in transform layer in DBT with 2+ years of experience • Working knowledge of building a semantic layer in DBT, Cube, etc • Expert knowledge of SQL; good knowledge of Python • Dashboard and analysis building in BI tools • Proven ability to manage complex data analysis • Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills • Recent startup experience preferred; uphold our values & mission; team player
