We’re striving to make a positive community impact by helping public safety and government agencies better utilize data to benefit every individual. • About the role • HOW YOU WILL HAVE IMPACT • We’re looking for a mission-driven Data Engineer to join ForceMetrics in designing, building, and scaling a powerful data platform that fuels insights for internal teams and external stakeholders alike. • In this role, you’ll build and maintain robust, reliable data pipelines that power our product, support complex analytics, and enable data-driven decisions for our users. • As an early member of our team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape our data engineering best practices, influence critical technical decisions, and create key areas of ownership. • We’re seeking someone who is a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and excited to contribute to a growing team with a bold mission.
• Develop scalable and reliable data pipelines to collect, transform, and load customer data, maintaining high standards for data integrity and quality • Build, customize, and configure self-service tools to empower data consumers across the company to extract, analyze, and visualize data from internal sources • Continuously evaluate and refine data sources and implement processes to enhance data accuracy, completeness, and reliability • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for new tools, metrics, and techniques to improve data engineering processes and outcomes • Partner with teams across the company to understand business objectives and develop analytics solutions that drive key results • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer or relevant role • 3+ years of experience with SQL and other languages (e.g SQL, Python, etc.) • Proficiency with Relational Databases (i.e Postgres, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, etc) • Excellent skills in data manipulation, reverse engineering, and solving complex data challenges • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Kibana, Tableau, or Power BI • Proven background designing and managing data lakes, data warehouses, and other modern scalable data technologies • Skills leveraging technologies like Apache Iceberg, Apache Parquet, Apache Arrow, BigQuery, and Amazon S3 to build and maintain efficient data systems • Highly analytical with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring data quality and integrity in every project • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
