• A Lead Engineer in Outage Engineering will develop and deliver Outage Servicing Tools and Equipment used during maintenance, inspection, refueling and outages. • Responsible for the design, development, analysis and testing of new products and technology to meet customer needs and overcome complex technical challenges. • Execute the design, development and analysis for specialty tooling and equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements. • Develop Outage Servicing Tooling and Equipment of medium to high complexity. • Demonstrate solid knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including expertise in areas such as: mechanical design, mechanical component design, structural design, welding, joint connections, and fabrication techniques. • Proactively communicate and deliver assignments on time. • Identify and mitigate technical risk. • Communicate technical detail to fabricators through the generation of fabrication drawings, specifications, and direct communication. • Generate operational instructions for newly developed tools and equipment. • Provide emergent issue response to Field Services teams and Customers as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college • At least 5 years of design experience in Mechanical Engineering • At least 2 years of nuclear industry experience • Ability to obtain commercial nuclear site entry. • Ability to travel to commercial nuclear sites as required (<20%). • Proficient in 3D CAD design and computer skills. • Experience in the development of equipment within the nuclear services sector. • Solid understanding of the principles of Mechanical/Structural Design and Engineering. • Ability to troubleshoot improperly functioning equipment and implement the proper changes. • Ability to assess technical risk and devise suitable means to mitigate. • Experience with the selection, use, design and analysis of lifting and rigging equipment including alignment with code requirements. • Familiarity with LEAN tools and principles.
