• The Technical Leader – Civil Structural Engineering, contributes to the team responsible for the development of Civil Engineering activities in support the New Plants Engineering projects. • The Technical Leader will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects. • Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues. • Manage project work schedules and priorities. • Mentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projects. • Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule. • Support civil systems design and/or equipment construction activities, respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals. • Support the certification processes for GE Products to address all US NRC or other nuclear regulator design certification requirements. • Establish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or University; • Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role. • Professional Engineer registration in one or more state. • Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University preferred. • Minimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred. • Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience. • Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals. • Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments. • Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of project management. • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000). • Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills. • Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity. • Detail-oriented and accountable for results. • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment. • A self-starter willing to take initiative.
