Description
• GEICO is seeking an experienced software engineer with a passion for building search platforms. • The ideal candidate has technical understanding in distributed software systems and open-source software. • An Engineer II works with Geico engineering teams to innovate, improve, and enhance existing systems.
Requirements
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Go, Python and understand object-oriented design • In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms • Experience with operations and controls of other compute service providers like AWS, GCP or Azure • Understanding of micro-service oriented architecture • Understanding of monitoring tools • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication) • Understanding of devops concepts and cloud architectural tooling • Strong problem-solving ability • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
