Description

• GEICO seeks a Senior Engineer focusing on high-performance, low maintenance network platforms • Collaborate across the organization to design and automate solutions • Ensure delivery of high-quality technology products in a fast-paced environment • Manage large projects delivering enterprise network services

Requirements

• Knowledge of common application architectures and communications protocols • Understanding of programming and scripting languages such as Python, Golang, Bash and PowerShell • Proficient using automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Nautobot, etc. • Experience using Linux • Proficient with container technologies like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc. • Ability to work with nested data structures like JSON, XML, YAML • Ability to work with APIs and database query languages such as SQL • Familiarity with full stack network infrastructure functions including, but not limited to, switching, routing, IPAM, ADCs, and network controllers • Knowledge of common network architectures and communications protocols is desired • Understanding of network security principles and best practices is desired • Ability to perform advanced packet and/or protocol analysis throughout the seven-layer OSI reference model is desired • Experience with network performance, capacity, configuration, and fault management is desired • Experience in public cloud infrastructure is desired • Strong problem-solving ability • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment • One or more of the following active certifications are highly desired: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or willingness to complete within 6 months, CompTIA Network+ or willingness to complete within 6 months
