• GEICO is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II for next generation technologies. • Instrumental in driving the adoption, simplicity and expansion of Platform Engineering. • Provide a friction-less experience to customers while maintaining high standards of protection and availability. • Write product or system development code and participate in design reviews. • Review code and provide feedback based on best practices. • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve them.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. • Minimum 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting. • Minimum 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting. • Minimum 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture. • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems. • Strong problem-solving ability. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
