Description

• GEICO is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer, Mobile (Android) • You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition to a tech organization • Our Staff Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working on Mobile/Web solutions • Our team thrives in delivering high quality technology products in a hyper-growth environment • Focus on multiple areas and provide leadership to the engineering teams • Own complete solution across its entire life cycle • Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions • Mentor more junior team members professionally to help them realize their full potential

Requirements

• Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages including object-oriented design • Experience in building products using a micro-services architecture and extensible REST APIs • Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code • Fluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework • Experience in leveraging PowerShell scripting • Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments • Experience in Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform • Experience in security protocols and products including understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth • In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms • Experience in Application Frameworks • Experience with Gradle • Experience with Android Studio, VS Code, or a similar IDE • Experience in Risk assessment • Strong problem-solving ability • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
