Description

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions for migration of on-premises data stores to cloud-based technologies in accordance with the defined cloud data architecture principles/patterns. • Act as the hands-on technical expert to provide support for on-premises and cloud data infrastructure and data movement issues. • Act as a lead to design, develop, document, implement, and maintain cloud-hosted data and analytics services in Azure and/or any other cloud technologies, along with effective management of code through DevOps principles. • Implement and maintain data security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards and regulations. • Promote and drive technical agility by collaborating with development teams, other Genworth internal teams and vendor teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets the growing needs of the organization. • Build & manage a team of cloud developers/QA to efficiently deliver optimized solutions. • Coordinate with downstream and upstream teams including onshore/offshore vendor teams. • Ability to quickly upskill in any additional cloud technologies as required by the business. • Ability to take up new challenges with respect to different technologies and provide solutions unique to each technology.

Requirements

• Overall, 12+ years of experience, with 5+ of experience in Cloud engineering roles, with Azure or AWS cloud experience a must. • Solid experience in design, development, implementation and operationalizing complex/enterprise scale data management projects with cloud and hybrid infrastructure is a must. • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate and with various stakeholders, architects, vendors, and other technical teams is highly desirable. • Must demonstrate ability and curiosity to better understand the business context behind technical initiatives and deliver accordingly. • Extensive experience in technologies around databases, data warehouses, data pipelines and ETL/ELT is a must. • Ability to evaluate design architecture and enhance system performance by bringing in best practices. • Certifications in Azure/AWS/Databricks are preferred. • Proficiency in designing solutions for and implementing Data Warehousing projects in Azure/AWS (Data Factory/Synapse/Databricks/Glue/ Redshift) along with its other services. • Proficient in automation and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps/Jenkins/Git. • Must have a good understanding of Cloud networking (VM’s, Load Balancers and Firewall, etc.) security (Network Security Groups, Security Center, Secret storage etc.) and other Azure/AWS services. • Strong understanding of Agile and development methodologies.
