In just two years, Whizz has grown rapidly, managing a fleet of 2,500 e-bikes primarily in New York and New Jersey, achieving a remarkable 250% year-over-year growth rate. Our mission is to serve an underserved audience of gig workers, aiming to manage the largest electric two-wheeler fleet in the US. Our dynamic team of 90 people is expanding quickly. • Key Responsibilities • Plan, Organize, and Execute Financial Tasks and Projects: The Finance Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various financial tasks and projects that are critical to the company's operational and strategic objectives. This includes creating financial plans, managing financial risks, and ensuring that the financial operations align with the overall business goals. • Provide and Interpret Financial Reports for Management: You will be tasked with preparing comprehensive financial reports and analyzing financial data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the managerial team. This involves interpreting financial information and trends to support decision-making and advising on possible courses of action to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. • Manage the Preparation of the Company’s Budget: A key responsibility is to oversee the budgeting process, which includes developing the annual budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that the budget aligns with the company’s financial goals and strategies. This requires meticulous planning and coordination with various departments to compile and review budget proposals. • Estimate Funds for Short and Long-Term Financial Objectives: You will be responsible for making accurate estimates of the funds required to meet both the short-term and long-term financial objectives of the company. This includes forecasting cash flows, identifying financial risks, and planning for capital expenditures and operational funding needs. • Payroll accrual and payment: In this role, you will be responsible for accurately calculating and recording payroll accruals to ensure that all employee compensation and related expenses are properly accounted for in financial records. Additionally, you will oversee the timely and compliant disbursement of payroll payments, ensuring that all employees receive their correct compensation and that payroll processes align with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a finance/accounting role 3+ years; • Advanced Excel and Google Sheet skills: expertise in using advanced functions and formulas; • Comprehensive understanding of QuickBooks Online, experience in managing company financials; • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in the US (GAAP); • Ability to support and collaborate with a finance team effectively; • Readiness to work in a high-growth startup, with the ability to help build processes from scratch, not just maintain existing ones.
