• Shippo is the shipping layer of the internet and a core building block of e-commerce. • Our mission is to make merchants successful through world class shipping. • Provide best-in-class solutions that e-commerce businesses need. • As a Senior Software Engineer, lead technical design and systems architecture for the Carrier Capabilities team.
🎯 Requirements
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in building and maintaining highly available, distributed, and scalable systems. • Proven expertise in building and maintaining APIs, services, and databases. • Proficiency in server-side programming (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Ruby) and SQL databases. • Experience with server-side MVC frameworks (e.g., Django, .NET, Spring, Rails, Phoenix). • Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns. • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Familiarity with performance optimization and debugging in distributed systems. • Passion for customer success, with a deep understanding of usability, reliability, and scalability. • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (advanced/fluent). • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and scale solutions to meet business needs. • A commitment to continuous improvement, craftsmanship, and team success. • BSc or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience).
