📋 Description
• Here at Shippo, we are the shipping layer of the internet and we consider ourselves to be one of the core building blocks of e-commerce. • Our mission is to make merchants successful through world class shipping. • We provide our customers with the most competitive shipping rates, print labels, automated international documents, shipment tracking, facilitate the returns process and more. • We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Billing & Fraud Prevention team. • Our business is rapidly expanding and we’re developing a best-in-class billing and payment processing system to support new products and pricing models. • As a Senior Engineer, you will provide leadership and oversight in technical design, systems architecture, and coding for your team as well as the Engineering team as a whole. • Contribute to our SaaS billing system, bundling, pricing and packaging tools in order to support go to market strategies • Maintain and extend our existing postage billing system to support a high throughput invoicing system • Contribute to and maintain our fraud prevention ecosystem • Work with our product team to refine the scope of new products and capabilities • Collaborate with fellow engineers to create milestones that support product requirements
🎯 Requirements
• BSc in a STEAM field, with a preference for computer science and software engineering • 6+ years of experience of hands-on engineering experience building high volume distributed systems and scalable APIs, services, or applications • Coding experience in server-side programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java, Ruby) • Experience with data analysis and reporting • Excellent communication abilities, adept at conveying information clearly and effectively to stakeholders across different departments and levels within the organization • Experience developing and maintaining highly performant billing and invoicing systems
