📋 Description

• Here at Shippo, we are the shipping layer of the internet and we consider ourselves to be one of the core building blocks of e-commerce. • Our mission is to make merchants successful through world class shipping. • With our products and solutions, we level the playing field by providing our customers with best-in-class solutions that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them. • Through Shippo, e-commerce businesses, marketplaces, and platforms are able to connect to shipping carriers around the world from one API and dashboard. • We provide our customers with the most competitive shipping rates, print labels, automated international documents, shipment tracking, facilitate the returns process and more. • We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Labels team! • The Labels team is responsible for building and maintaining Shippo’s label core API and some of the most critical carrier integrations at Shippo like USPS, UPS and FedEx, as well as developing Shippo’s carrier integration technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in building and maintaining highly available, scalable, distributed systems • Experience in building and maintaining APIs, services, and databases • Proficiency in server-side programming (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Ruby) and SQL databases • Familiarity with server-side frameworks (e.g., Django, .NET, Spring, Rails, Phoenix) • Strong understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns. • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize backend applications for performance and scalability • Passion for building reliable and maintainable software • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams • Clear communication skills to articulate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • A mindset of continuous learning, craftsmanship, and team success • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience)
