Description

• Support the organization by ensuring benefit information, authorization, and patient liability are obtained prior to care. • Work closely with several departments to ensure correct funding source information is updated. • Obtain and document benefit and authorization information through payer portals, phone, or fax. • Validate patient information and input into EMR to reduce write-offs. • Conduct daily monitoring and updates related to insurance verification, Medicare eligibility, and reauthorization needs. • Perform monthly reverification for Medicaid and other insurances. • Coordinate with clinical staff and scheduling on authorization and funding issues. • Maintain knowledge of payer portals and handle inquiries related to benefits and authorizations. • Support billing by resolving insurance and authorization discrepancies.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Third Party Insurance and Authorization Requirements. • Knowledge of insurance websites. • Knowledge of HomeCare HomeBase is preferred. • Conscientious with attention to detail. • Demonstrates patience, flexibility and cooperative attitude. • Effective verbal and written communication skills with others both internally and externally. • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
