• Provide independent legal advice and support for Greenpeace International campaigns • Advise independent National and Regional Organisations on legal matters • Conduct legal risk assessments for actions and investigations • Implement strategic litigation for campaigns at various levels • Handle campaign-related legal disputes and ensure proper representation • Support strategies that advance civil society rights and protection of watchdogs
• Advanced university degree in law • Admission and good standing with a bar association that confers attorney-client privilege for advice given by in-house counsel • At least 5 years of substantial experience as a professional lawyer (preferably in an international context) • Knowledge of (international) human rights law, tort law, criminal law, law of the sea, (international) environmental law • Experience in various types of litigation • Excellent written and spoken English • Ability to develop and implement complex projects • Ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-lawyers • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion • Ability to collaborate with cross-cultural teams and work under pressure • Strong influencing, conflict resolution, communication and presentation skills
