Description

• Mid-level Backend Software Engineer for Wellhub's Search & Discovery team in Portugal. • Responsible for providing exploration and discovery services for Wellhub’s end-users. • Mixes software engineering and data science to provide search capabilities and personalized recommendations. • Build scalable architectures, maintain code, and ensure project delivery.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience. • Experience developing complex modern web services. • Experience applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis. • Experience with at least two programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go. • Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. • Experience using cloud platforms and/or containerized application deployments. • Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies, such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch. • Strong communication skills including verbal and written English and Portuguese. • Nice to have: Interest and ability to learn other coding languages, familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications, experience with Information Retrieval, Recommendation Systems, and/or Natural Language Processing.
