Description

• Monitoring, identifying, and providing strategic guidance to HSO on emerging areas of importance within the scope of the Technical Committee. • Helping to identify sponsorship and endorsement opportunities. • Working with key stakeholders and experts from Canada and internationally in the revision or development of HSO standards under the Technical Committee’s purview. • Bringing the perspective of the membership category that you belong to and working for the benefit of the global community. • Advising and reaching consensus on the topics for inclusion and the content of the standards through a series of meetings. • Maintaining effective communication and knowledge transfer amongst Technical Committee members and HSO staff. • Providing guidance to HSO staff on standard(s) related interpretation questions and inquiries related to technical content of the standard(s). • Promoting the adoption of standards once published.

Requirements

• You identify with one of these four stakeholder categories: Patients, Providers, Policy makers/health services stakeholders, General interest. • You have subject matter expertise through professional and lived experience. • You have demonstrated experience working in collaborative settings, and exhibiting the diplomacy, tact, and respect required for group interactions. • You are able to commit to the time investment and constraints as required for Technical Committee activities. • You are able to work and collaborate with others in English.

Benefits

• A patient and family volunteer honorarium is provided to all patient and family members participating on HSO’s Technical Committees. • HSO typically provides reimbursement to Technical Committee members for expenses related to attending an in-person meeting in Ottawa. • Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
