📋 Description

• Veriff is hiring its founding Senior Database Engineer in the USA! • The Engineering Division at Veriff builds the software powering our platform, cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way. • We deploy excellence to stay on the cutting edge, and we’re looking for talented individuals to help us innovate. • Join our Data Platform Team and become part of a dynamic group working on cutting-edge data solutions to support the next generation of identity verification. • This team is responsible for managing database infrastructure, ensuring the performance and reliability of Veriff systems, and contributing to the strategic direction of our data platform. • You’ll become part of a team of experienced engineers who share a passion for data, supporting our engineering organization, and building scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. • You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our data platform and guiding engineering efforts! • In this role, you’ll drive hands-on technical implementation and guide a growing team, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure the long-term success of Veriff’s data infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role, with a proven track record in building and scaling database infrastructure. • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with deep hands-on experience in deploying and maintaining large-scale database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL). • Experience managing large database deployments, having previously worked with and supported 10+ databases across multiple environments, ensuring seamless integration, high availability, and performance tuning. • Advanced knowledge of data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines, with the ability to design solutions that can handle high-throughput, real-time data processing. • Proficiency with Dataform for managing data workflows and transformations, enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of the data platform. • Experience in leading and mentoring teams, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across engineering and product teams. • Proficiency in Python for automation, building data pipelines, and optimizing workflows across data systems. • Strong experience in automating processes and building infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and other modern tools. • A deep understanding of networking and security practices, including managing network security for databases and protecting sensitive information. • Fluency in both written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
