Description

• Help identify and create the technical vision for Old School RuneScape. • Be accountable for executing the vision. • Oversee the present and future technology projects, tools, people pipeline and development methodologies. • As part of product leadership, build a high-performance team with a culture of fast delivery and data-driven iteration. • Challenge and raise the technical skill level of staff in the team. • Assist in creating a technical people pipeline that is in line with the needs of the studio alongside the Technical Director and product leadership. • Identify and mentor top talent within the team to broader roles and greater responsibility. • Guide the technical staffing & development of new technical projects. • Help develop clear and concise job descriptions and identify career paths.

Requirements

• Strong ability to review and improve processes and pipelines. • Able to identify areas of technical improvement, establish and refine a vision, and work directly with the engineering leadership to implement that vision. • Ensure Product, Technical vision and roadmaps are aligned, balancing business value and risk. • Build, lead, mentor and manage a team of talented engineers and engineering leaders. • Collaborate with design, product, analytics, and leadership teams to specify features and development tools. • Help build and execute transparent roadmaps, create and deploy best-in-class processes, proactively identify and resolve issues, and innovate in software development. • Stay current on cutting-edge research & technologies, recommending new tools & techniques.
