📋 Description

• A Medical Biller plays a crucial role in the healthcare billing process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts and insurance claims. • This position involves reviewing and verifying patient information, coding medical procedures and diagnoses, and submitting claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. • Using coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies • Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid • Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims • Verifying patients' insurance coverage • Answering patients' billing questions • Handling collections on unpaid accounts • Managing the facility's Accounts Receivable reports • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information • Knowledge of insurance guidelines especially Medicare and state Medicaid • Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances • All accounts are to be reviewed for insurance or patient follow-up
