Description
• Ensure consistent interpretation and application of UK GAAP and IFRS throughout the Group and UK GAAP and IFRS compliant financial reporting. • Create and maintain the group accounting policies manual for group reporting under IFRS and guide the rest of the team to ensure the application of these policies. • Prepare accounting memos based on UK GAAP/IFRS for material, highly judgmental and complex transactions and provide justification for accounting treatment as well as keep appropriate records and workings. • Lead the UK GAAP to IFRS transition. • Identify reporting disclosure requirements within consolidated financial statements to comply with regulatory requirements as a private company or listed company. • Guide and support the rest of the team with the implementation of new accounting standards and group reporting processes (IFRS 2, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, etc.). • Assist with reviewing group consolidated financial statements.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. • At least 6-7 years of progressive experience in Auditing/Advisory firm (Big4) or a multinational corporation, working in the IFRS consulting team. • Strong expertise with the application and knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS to unique or complex business transactions, especially on IFRS 2, 3, 9, 10, 15. • Experience gained within a large, complex reporting environment. • Demonstrated ability to draft technical accounting papers in English. • Experience dealing with multiple robust internal and external stakeholders. • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions. • Accounting policy experience. • Aptitude for influencing others to follow you towards a solution.
