We match you to roles where you're most likely to succeed and provide feedback on every application to help you learn. β’ For one of our clients, we are looking for a Lead Software Engineer III (Ruby on Rails/React.js), working remotely from the United States. β’ As a Lead Software Engineer III, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using Ruby on Rails and React.js. β’ You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to build innovative software solutions that meet business needs and drive user engagement. β’ This role requires strong leadership in guiding technical teams, defining best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code. β’ Your expertise in full-stack development, cloud environments, and modern deployment pipelines will be key in driving success. β’ Accountabilities: β’ Lead the design, development, and deployment of Ruby on Rails applications with modern React.js front-end solutions. β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance software. β’ Ensure best practices in object-oriented programming, API development, and database architecture. β’ Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and cloud-based deployment strategies (AWS, Azure, or GCP). β’ Review pull requests, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to enhance technical growth. β’ Troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, security, and maintainability. β’ Drive Agile development methodologies and contribute to process improvements. β’ Travel up to twice per year to Maryland for team collaboration and planning.
β’ 8+ years of experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails. β’ Strong expertise in React.js for front-end development, including building UI components and managing client-server interactions. β’ Experience with PostgreSQL databases, including query optimization and schema design. β’ Proficiency in Git and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD processes. β’ Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS). β’ Previous experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and leading development initiatives. β’ Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. β’ Ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical stakeholders and align development with business goals. β’ Experience in government contracting or insurance/medical leave applications is a plus. β’ Highly desired certifications: CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Developer, or similar.
