Description

• Assist in the creation and delivery of media literacy educational experiences and resources for youth, families, and teachers • Collaborate in the design of educational materials, such as videos, handouts, and infographics • Support the facilitation of in-person and/or online educational workshops • Conduct online research on media literacy, youth development, violence prevention, substance misuse and other health topics to inform curriculum development • Conduct outreach to schools, child-care centers, and youth-serving organizations to build awareness of educational programs and the benefits of teaching youth media literacy skills • Assist in administrative and operational tasks as needed to carry out the mission of MPY

Requirements

• Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program • Work study part of financial aid package • Students with work study may be prioritized • Reliable transportation • Passion for youth development and education • Desire to work in the social sector and participate in community engagement initiatives • Experience working directly with youth as part of an educational, recreational, and/or mentoring program • Strong communication skills, both oral and written • Experience with creatively using social media platforms or a desire to learn • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and G-suite • Knowledge of graphic design/media production software is a plus • Working toward a college degree in a related field (e.g. education, public health, nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, psychology, marketing, film, journalism, or other relevant major)
