• Experience leading and motivating strong, productive, distributed teams • Experience managing an engineering team that works on multiple products and technical stacks • Ability to work in a fast-paced early stage startup • Exceptional skills communicating and managing upward • Skilled in mentoring engineers to work collaboratively with product to turn high-level business requirements into detailed technical designs and tasks • Skilled in mentoring engineers to design scalable, resilient systems and architectures • Skilled in guiding engineers to find technical solutions that balance speed and quality, and design services for fast iteration • Proven track record of making improvements to team processes, technical best practices, and culture • Skilled at proactively managing multiple simultaneous engineering efforts, assessing risk, and working with the team to come up with proactive mitigation plans • Experience transforming culture on teams to one that is collaborative, growth-oriented, and high-ownership • Passion for mentoring engineers on technical, communication, and collaboration skills • Skilled at communicating effectively in a distributed environment with people across multiple time zones • Strong self-motivation, initiative, and adaptability
