Description

• Finding innovative ways of balancing business goals with statistical, technical, and data constraints • Working with other data scientists, strategists, and senior leaders to define and solve business problems • Brainstorming new ideas, designing experiments, collecting and exploring data, visualizing findings, and translating technical results into business contexts • Writing and documenting analysis scripts in Python and SQL • Extracting insights from data using various methods such as natural language processing, segmentation and clustering, geospatial analysis, hierarchical Bayesian modeling, Markov chain Monte Carlo, decision trees, and deep neural networks • Helping guide the structure and objectives of data science projects • Presenting results to the team, organization, and clients

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, bioinformatics, physical sciences, or related quantitative field • Solid understanding of statistics and experimental design • Demonstrated experience in working with data, including understanding of bias, error, confusion, power, and significance • Familiarity with Python ecosystem (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn) and SQL • Working familiarity with git and the command line • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams • Demonstrated aptitude for continual learning and growth
