• Design, develop, deploy, and secure DB2 databases and recognize potential enhancements or limitations of new software utilized within their area of expertise/tasking. • Performs maintenance of application configuration files and kernel parameters. • Automate system deployments and integrations with pipelines while applying the best-in-class orchestration and high availability principles to databases and associated applications. • Secure database environments according to NIST and DHA standards, including encryption of data at rest, in-transit and in-use with certificates and encryption and application of STIGs. • Assists with training and presenting to various audiences utilizing I.T. applications and government policy and procedures. • Ability to synthesize and evaluate information from a variety of sources, prepare documents, and provide insight to allow leadership to make timely and accurate decisions. • Accurately and reliably create backup, restoration, and recovery of the application systems including, but not limited to, configuration files, settings, processes, permissions. • Execute archive and data retention tasks to migrate data between tiers of storage to meet performance objectives and data retention requirements. • Responsible for testing and installation of all IAVA compliance items. • Performs troubleshooting, tuning, problem diagnosis, and problem resolution as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline. • 7+ years of experience as an IBM DB2 DBA working on software projects or complex health systems. • Previous programming experience using shell script to drive automation. • Active Security+ certification preferred. • Experience working in a federal government agency environment preferred. • Previous leadership experience highly desired.
