📋 Description

• Laravel is looking for the next Senior Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in database orchestration to join our all-remote Laravel Cloud infrastructure team. • For this role we're only considering applications in the EU timezone. • We're on a mission to improve the experience of developers everywhere in the world. • We don't only need to build beautiful software products, we also need to have a solid infrastructure foundation. • We always look at products end-to-end when we build something new. • We're not only looking for a person who knows how to work with infrastructure and databases, but someone who is able to have empathy for our users and wants to build the best possible products possible. • We're tackling some ambitious and exciting infrastructure projects. • We are looking for a colleague who can help us succeed with the mission - not just solve infrastructure problems. • We are looking for someone who is pragmatic and a team player, someone who knows the best practices, but also knows when a custom solution is required. • If these things appeal to you, then please come join us on this exciting journey! • For this role, we are specifically looking for someone to join the Infrastructure team, working on our recently announced Laravel Cloud platform. • Laravel Cloud is a fully managed infrastructure platform built for developers and teams who just want to ship their next big idea, and it's relentlessly optimized for Laravel and PHP. • Work together with a world class team, touching the developer experience of hundreds of thousands of developers around the world. • Work on our most ambitious project yet, the recently announced Laravel Cloud platform. • Spend time researching the best solutions. We want to make sure we do the right things right. • Value the collaborative process, we often pair program or have quick huddles to tackle tricky problems and like to come up with solutions together. • Enjoy programming(!). Even though we're often working with cloud providers such as AWS, we also sometimes need to build custom tooling and integrations and we enjoy doing that ourselves. • Documentation is king, especially in an all-remote company. We pride ourselves in documenting for ourselves and for our users. • Flexible hours and minimum bureaucracy, allowing you the freedom to get your best work done whichever way you prefer.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience from similar roles, preferably working closely with large scale production systems. • Mastery of AWS and potentially other cloud providers. • Preferably, you have worked in large AWS environments, dealing with customer data in multi-account setups spread across multiple regions. • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration as a whole. • Preferably, you have experience working with large clusters with customer data. • Preferably, you have experience building and maintaining Go-based K8s operators using tools such as Kubebuilder and Operator SDK. • Experience with orchestrating databases with Kubernetes. • Preferably, you have experience with Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) to orchestrate MySQL databases. • Experience managing Postgres and Redis databases in a similar fashion is also desirable. • Experienced and comfortable with using IaC in a team, enforcing sanity checks and policies to help us scale. • Being comfortable in a fast paced, evolving and all-remote environment.
