β’ Delivery of new technical features for a unique cybersecurity SaaS solution designed for small business customers and individuals. β’ The design, implementation (write high quality and secure code), and test application software. β’ Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing software. β’ Working closely with the team to scope engineering requirements for a particular feature. β’ Continuously helping to improve our engineering culture, including practices and processes. β’ Writes and delivers clean and maintainable code that is well-tested. β’ Implements front-end UI components using TypeScript and React Framework. β’ Implements RESTful API endpoints using TypeScript and NodeJS. β’ Participates in peer code reviews to help maintain the quality of delivered code and to help adhere to the engineering best practices. β’ Collaborate with developers to build reusable code and libraries for future use. β’ Implements software security requirements. β’ Design API endpoints for a feature, define schemas and generate documentation. β’ Design reusable and scalable React components for the front-end UI. β’ Work closely with fellow engineers, the Product Manager, and the UX Designer to scope engineering requirements and timelines for a feature. β’ Make sound software design decisions keeping customer experience at the forefront. β’ Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices. β’ Considers system performance, scalability, and reliability when defining technical designs. β’ Anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation. β’ Deliver well-tested code. β’ Write unit tests for the RESTful APIs and the front-end components. β’ Fix bugs and performance issues in the software. β’ Fix security vulnerabilities in the software. β’ Occasionally be on-call to resolve customer issues and address server alerts as needed.
π― Requirements
β’ Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience β’ 5+ years of commercial experience in software engineering β’ Experience writing code in JavaScript/Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, or related application β’ Experience with front-end technologies and frameworks, preferably with React β’ Experience with application, network, and cloud security β’ Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.). β’ Understanding of agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. β’ API design and development experience. β’ Node.js experience desired. β’ Preferred ability to write unit tests. β’ Ideally has experience working with some testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jest, etc. β’ Experience with building and architecting microservices β’ Preferred understanding of SaaS (Software as a Service) product architectures, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Stack, and networking. β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including communicating and explaining technical decisions.
