Description

• Provide expert guidance on marine engineering principles and hydrological assessments. • Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations and standards, including CCG and Transport Canada Marine Safety regulations. • Develop and implement methodologies for tailings sampling in remote Canadian locations. • Collaborate with project teams on design specifications and feasibility studies for marine energy projects. • Participate in fieldwork, including sample collection and site assessments. • Evaluate and recommend solutions for offshore structures, considering hydrodynamic forces and environmental impacts. • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for renewable energy operations. • Participate in technical reviews and provide feedback on engineering designs. • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on marine and hydrological practices. • Build and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory agencies in the renewable energy sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Science, Hydrology, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine and hydrological consulting or marine engineering, with specific experience in offshore structures, wind turbines, and renewable energy projects within Canada. • In-depth knowledge of marine systems, offshore wind and solar technologies, marine energy systems, and the relevant regulatory frameworks governing Canadian energy projects. • Proven experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary teams, particularly in the context of Canadian offshore renewable energy initiatives. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences, including regulatory bodies and project stakeholders in the Canadian context. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly related to challenges posed by offshore renewable energy development in Canada. • Ability to travel as needed for project requirements across various locations in Canada.
