• This is a remote position. • Lemax, Inc., a Canton, MA based company, engages freelance artists to conceive and illustrate miniature collectible figurines and accessories to be part of annually produced Halloween and Christmas porcelain village collections. • Villages include buildings, accessories and figurines. • The Building Artist will be responsible for creating new building designs to add to the Lemax program. • You will be a part of a design team but work remotely to complete your projects. • This is an Independent Contractor position.
• Bachelor degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum 5 years of work experience. • Strong illustration and coloring skills. • Knowledge of architectural renderings/elevations. • Experience with illustrations for collectible designs and holiday products. • Life drawing skills to design figurines a plus. • Strong creativity skills to produce charming buildings. • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc). • 3D design experience a plus. • Ability to start with concept research and development and subsequently produce perspective artwork as well as alternate (rear, sides, and aerial) views for production. • Ability to produce final colored work (markers, pen, or photoshop). • Experience working with a team of artists. • Ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy in projects. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Able to take direction well from Art Director and be a team player. • English language proficiency required. • Have an understanding of American culture, Christmas, and Halloween holidays. • Prefer candidate to be located in the USA, Southern California preferred, but not required.
