📋 Description

• Develop and optimize Python-based geospatial data processing workflows. • Run and evaluate various flood inundation mapping tools. • Develop, test, and deploy solutions using open-source libraries and tools. • Process and analyze large geospatial datasets, including Digital Elevation Models and hydrofabric datasets. • Contribute to model optimization efforts, ensuring scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability in a cloud computing environment. • Enhance model performance by identifying and resolving computational inefficiencies. • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and software developers to implement and improve existing modeling tools. • Prepare reports, publications, and presentations summarizing modeling and software development efforts. • Stay informed on emerging technologies in hydrologic modeling, GIS, cloud computing, and machine learning.

🎯 Requirements

• MS or PhD in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Geospatial Science, or a related field • Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood inundation mapping, and geospatial processing • Advanced programming proficiency in Python; experience with R is a plus • Experience working with large geospatial datasets • Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., QGIS) and open-source geospatial processing tools • Experience with AWS cloud resources for geospatial processing • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks • Experience with software development best practices, including code testing, version control (Git), and collaborative development
