β€’ M9 Solutions is dedicated to providing IT services and solutions to the Federal Government by mobilizing the right people, skills, clearance levels, and technologies to help organizations who desire improved performance and modern, sustainable change. β€’ M9 has provided quality IT services and support to more than 30 Federal Agencies and multiple commercial customers nationwide. β€’ Our capabilities include digital transformation, software development, cloud migration, applications & infrastructure, cybersecurity, data delivery & analytics, and IT talent solutions. β€’ M9 Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Mechanical Engineer – Support Services to work remotely on a government contract for a client located in Arlington, VA. β€’ Support the development of requirements and objectives for solicitations and other initiatives that address physical security threats. β€’ Perform technical reviews of proposed projects and work in progress. β€’ Attend meetings, workshops, or other technical events in support of or in lieu of program managers, to help ensure adequate coverage of key events and documentation of important technical issues or outcomes. β€’ Analyze problems to see how a mechanical device or process might help solve the problem. β€’ Design or redesign mechanical devices, creating blueprints so the device can be built. β€’ Develop prototypes of devices and test the prototypes. β€’ Analyze the test results and change the design as needed. β€’ Oversee the manufacturing processes and other staff for quality control.

Requirements

β€’ Ability to provide 20 hours of support per week (schedule to be determined based on project needs and availability). β€’ Travel may be required, approximately one trip per quarter (any travel requirements would be communicated at least one month in advance). β€’ 5 – 7+ years of relevant experience described above should include a range of engineering tasks related to the assessment and/or mitigation of physical security risks to electric grid transmission and distribution systems and components. β€’ Sufficient experience to assess the relevance and potential impacts of proposed and ongoing RD&D to reducing risk. β€’ Knowledge of security challenges faced by the energy sector; oil and gas knowledge is also helpful but not required.
