• Are you interested in BigData and NoSQL Database technologies? • Do you want to be part of a revolution in the airline technology? • Are you ready to advance your career with a company that is reshaping the travel industry? • ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of our client, is seeking a Junior Database Administrator. • Our client is a well-known firm in the airline technology sector, specializing in innovative end-to-end software solutions offering personalized, customer-centric experiences. • Enjoy the flexibility of working remotely or from the office in Chania, offering a balance that suits your lifestyle and enhances your work experience. • You will be reporting to: Database Manager • As a Jnr DBA, you will join the DBA team, responsible for the monitoring, tuning and performance optimization of the company’s Database Servers and DBaaS, to provide smooth and 24/7 operation of the infrastructure platform for the company’s clients. • More specifically you will: • Perform monitoring, tuning, management, capacity planning and improvement of existing DSE & Apache Cassandra Clusters and MySQL & Azure SQL & Cosmos DB Servers • Participate in the installation and configuration of new Clusters/Servers such as Azure SQL/MySQL/Cosmos DB Server & DSE & Cassandra • Perform troubleshooting, backup/recovery, connectivity and security in Cloud/Server/Database environments • Implement automation and functionality scripts using Python/BASH/PowerShell
Requirements
• A BSc in Information Technology or in a relevant field or a combination of related education and work experience • Basic knowledge of Relational Database Management Software (preferably MySQL) • Basic knowledge & usage and administration skills in Linux systems (preferably Redhat & Centos) • Basic understanding of NoSQL database (preferably +CQL Cassandra Query Language & Cassandra Data Modeling) • Basic knowledge of DSE & Apache Cassandra environments • Basic knowledge of Python Programming language • Basic knowledge of BASH scripting • Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written • Any experience in the following will be considered an asset: • Azure Cloud technologies • OO programming language such as Java • Perl and/or shell scripting
