• Under the supervision of the Executive Producer and in close collaboration with the VFX Supervisor, the VFX Producer is responsible for the efficient day-to-day management of the show production team, schedule, workflow, and is held accountable for delivering the work on time, and on budget, to the satisfaction of the client. • Accountable for the delivery of the project on time, and on budget. • Builds and maintains professional and transparent relationships with clients. • Collaborates with the Executive Producer, VFX Supervisor, and Heads of Department, to bid and manage work. • Attends production meetings prior to shooting, on-location or remotely. • Maintains a continuous flow of information between the set and the Studio. • Determines resource requirements through consultation with the VFX Production Manager and Department Coordinators to plan an effective and efficient approach to completing the show within contractually agreed deadlines. • Manages the day-to-day resource requirements of the team and project, and updates the Resource Projection spreadsheet accordingly. • Serves as the primary point of contact between the client and Mavericks VFX, ensuring timely communication as it relates to project schedules, deliverables, new work, change orders and billing issues. • Sets payment and key milestone schedules. • Develops and implements the production schedule to ensure both internal and client deadlines are met. • Schedules weekly deliveries in support of the Client’s post-production schedule. • Oversees all turnovers, assets, shots, finals, editorial updates, marketing requests, change orders, and client deliveries. • Facilitates spotting/turnover sessions. • Manages internal communication between the VFX Supervisor, Heads of Departments, Leads, and Show Production, anticipates and communicates issues in order to resolve problems quickly. • Attends all dailies and client reviews, on-site or remotely, and facilitates a dialogue regarding the clarity of notes and implications on schedule to manage client expectations. • Tracks and records all changes to the scope of work, communicates changes to the VFX Supervisor and creatives. • Verifies change orders with the client. • Notifies the Finance Department of all budget updates, including shot additions, change orders, omits, costs-to-date, etc. • Tracks all project costs Works with accounting to ensure all invoices are sent according to contractual or pre-determined payment schedules. • Tracks all Bid vs Actual project costs. • Reviews weekly cost reports with the Executive Producer. • Issues weekly internal and client progress reports. • Plays a key role in end of show post-mortem reviews, provides feedback on successes and identifies areas for improvement. • Promotes a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment. • Acts as an ambassador of Mavericks’ core values and studio culture.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of production management experience in live-action episodic television and feature film visual effects. • Expert knowledge of industry-standard production management tools including Shotgun and Microsoft Excel. • A proven track record of client-facing project management and scheduling. • In-depth understanding of the entire VFX process and pipeline. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • A flair for dealing with clients, knowing the right tone and urgency without leading to misunderstandings. • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. • Able to cope with stressful situations and conflict with composure. • Able to perform multiple tasks, set priorities and solve problems. • Collaborative by nature. • A College/University degree or equivalent in a related field.
