• Maveris is an IT and cybersecurity services company committed to helping organizations create secure digital solutions. • We are Veteran-owned and serve customers across the Federal Government and private sector. • The Automation Security Architect will support the Department of Veterans Affairs. • Provide technical and programmatic support services including development, maintenance, and administrative engineering support. • Lead the delivery of a Federal Agency’s Enterprise Security Architecture and Strategy. • Provide thought leadership for new techniques and design patterns related to Enterprise Security Architecture within Automation and DevSecOps. • Ensure that the Enterprise Security Architecture framework supports the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and federal mandates. • Collaborate with teams to develop architectures that protect automation workflows. • Design and implement automation frameworks to streamline security processes and enhance efficiency. • Mentor junior security professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Architecture, Telecommunication System, Design or related discipline • 7 years of relevant experience • Strong understanding of security principles, concepts, and best practices • Expertise in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) • Knowledge of cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) • Experience with security frameworks and methodologies (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001) • Experience with integrating and configuring security tools such as SIEMs (Splunk), vulnerability management platforms, and automated threat intelligence into automation workflows • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in cybersecurity • Hands-on experience with Zero Trust security models
